FirstClass - Course unit conferences

Each DSV course unit has an FC conference. These conferences appear on your FC desktop automatically when you register to a course (that contains these course units). All course unit conferences have the same structure, but it is the teacher of each course unit that decides what rights the students shall have. Here you can find a description of the structure of the course unit conferences.

Different teachers use the FC facilities differently. The description here is a general one, and it may not always be correct. Consult your course unit handbook (or teacher's instructions) for identifying the intended usage of each conference.

Main conference

The main conference has a name, that may not always be easy to identify the course unit from. Right-click on the conference and select "About" to see more information about the selected conference. In the main course unit conference the teachers may send important information. The main conference also contains all the sub conferences explained bellow. They are all prefixed with the name of the main conference.

Dokumentation (Documentation)

Teachers may choose to put some of the course material here.

Handledning (Tutoring)

Here you can normally send questions to the teacher (and other students). This conference often works as an FAQ.

Fritt Forum (Open/free Forum)

Similar to the previous, but for more general questions. Often used as a place for students of the same course unit to meet each other (e.g. in order to form groups).

Lärarrum (Teacher room)

These is a conference for the teachers. Some teacher may configure it so that student can send messages to this conference.

Grupper (Groups)

This conference may contain other conferences that are assigned to groups. A group can use one of the sub conferences for their intra-group communication.

Inluppar (Assignments)

This conference is often used for giving in the assignments. It may be configured by the teacher in different ways.
