The DSV server triton.dsv.su.se has the operating system Debian GNU/Linux and is accessible for students and employee at DSV. You login on triton with your university account and its password.

The best way to access triton is to use an SSH client. Microsoft Windows users can for example use the PuTTY SSH client. You can find PuTTY at http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/. A pc with Linux or a Mac with macOS usually have the SSH client preinstalled.

You can run graphical programs on triton which displays the graphical picture on your local pc screen. If you are using the ssh command then use the -X option to allow graphics according to the X protocol. If you are using PuTTY then choose Tunnel and then mark Enable X11-forwarding.
