Enrollment
For information on the enrolment procedure, please refer to the information letter that you have received from DSV.
We have received questions on the date for enrolment. The following summarizes the most important points:
* enrolment takes place on Thursday August 26th 2010 from 12.00 to 16.00 at floor 4 of the DSV department building at Isafjordsgatan 39, Kista. See dsv.su.se/en/about/contact/find.
* if you cannot be present in Stockholm on enrolment day, please write an email to svlmaster@dsv.su.se and explain the reasons for your delay.
Please note that if you do not enrol on August 26th 2010, your admission will be withdrawn. An extension may be possible, but only for a few days and only in very special circumstances such as, for example:
* serious illness (you need to provide a medical certificate)
* administrative delay in obtaining a visa for Sweden due to being called for an interview at the Swedish embassy of your home country at a late date (please provide proof of the date of your interview)
Please contact the student counsellors office to apply for permission to enrol later as early as possible due to summer vacations in Sweden at the following address: svlmaster@dsv.su.se.
When you enrol, you will be asked to show your admission letter from www.studera.nu and your identity card or passport. You will be asked to hand in the statement of compliance that you receive with this letter. Please read it carefully and sign it in advance. Finally, your photograph will be taken and you will receive a badge that gives you access to the premises as well as a computer account.

Before you have enrolled, we strongly recommend that you attend the general Orientation Day for new Master Students. It is held on Wednesday August 25, 10 – 16 in the Stockholm University Campus (Frescati). Please, note that this is not the same as the Kista campus where DSV is located. Choice of Courses
The curriculum of your chosen programme will be presented at the DSV information meetings but it is a good idea to be familiar with it before arrival. In particular, you should take the time to reflect on which optional courses you would like to attend.
Start of Courses
Courses start from Monday August 30th 2010. It is strongly recommended that you be present at the first lecture of each course in order to receive all necessary information schedule, educational activities and examination including assignments.
Regulations
The code of honour and regulations for examinations for all courses at the department is based on the code of honour adopted by NADA and the Stanford University code of honour. The purpose is to uphold a common concept of honour. If students and teachers adhere to this code, greater resources can be channelled to other purposes than supervisory and control measures.
Accomodation
It is very important that you arrange for accommodation in Stockholm as soon as possible.
On the web site for admitted Master students that we mentioned above, you will find the addresses of several accommodation providers. Most students find their accommodation through the Foundation of Student Accommodation in Stockholm (SSSB) but it is a good idea to also try the other addresses.
If you arrive in Stockholm without long-term accommodation, an alternative may be to spend your first time in a youth hostel. Information is available at www.svif.se.
Below you will find some useful links on how to find accommodation in Stockholm. Unfortunately not all of the sites are available in English.

Residence Permit
We assume that you have the legal right to study in Sweden, e.g. Swedish nationality or a valid residence permit. If that is not the case or if you are not certain, please consult the information on the web site of the Swedish migration board Migrationsverket (www.migrationsverket.se). If you need a visa, the procedure should be started immediately for you to be sure of getting your visa in time for your enrolment and your education beginning in August 2010. You do not have to asks us for any documents because Migrationsverket has been informed by studera.nu that you have been admitted, so when applying for at visa you just have to mention that you have been admitted to the programme.
