Why choose Information and Knowledge Systems Design and Architecture?
Information and knowledge are becoming key resources for the management of organisations and society as well as for the everyday life of people. Novel information applications are emerging ranging from strategic business intelligence in global organisations over knowledge networks of professionals to micro blogging among friends and relatives. The development is fuelled by recent advances in networking and software technologies resulting in innovative information solutions for connecting people across organisational, social, and physical borders. There is a need for skilled professionals who can manage this development and undertake the role of future information leaders.
The Information and Knowledge Systems Design and Architecture track equips you with the tools and competencies needed for designing, managing, and applying tomorrow's information services and solutions. The track offers courses on business intelligence, knowledge management, data and web mining, and Semantic Web as well as courses on underlying database technologies. Furthermore, the track offers elective courses in the area of IT Management. The track prepares you for professional roles such as Enterprise Architect, Database Architect, and Technology Consultant.
