Step 1. Before applying, read the information about exchange studies on our website.

Step 2. Login to the online application portal

Please note, we cannot process applications listed with the following mail servers: @hotmail.*, @msn.*, @live.*, @outlook.com. We recommend that you provide your student email address, @gmail or @yahoo.

  • Please note that the online application has been optimized to work with Microsoft Internet Explorer version 8 or higher, Firefox 5 or higher. We cannot guarantee that it will function correctly with other browsers. 
  • NOTE! Use the link to the application portal that you received in the email with your nomination confirmation.
  • In the right hand column, type your first name, surname and e-mail address and the characters in the picture that will show up after you have filled out the boxes. Click “Register”.

 

  • A confirmation e-mail will be sent to the address you registered. Please click on the link in order to activate your account. (Check your junk mail if no e-mail has been delivered to your inbox.)
  • Type your e-mail address and create a password of at least one digit, one letter and one special character. The password must be at least eight characters long.
  • Log in with your e-mail address and password. Type the characters shown in the picture that will show up.

Step 3. Start application

Click on “Start new application”.

Read the information under “Welcome to the online application for incoming students!” and click “Next”.

Below are some guidelines on how to fill in the different sections of the application. If you put the pointer on the circles with an “i” in the application form you will receive specified information about how to answer a question correctly.

Step 4. Personal Information inlcuding uploading a picture (jpg format).

  • Enter your first name and surname as stated in your passport. This is very important for your visa application.
  • Upload a picture (jpg format)

Step 5. Enter your Emergency Contact

Step 6. Enter your Educational Background.

Step 7. Enter your Preffered Stay.

Department: Choose Department of Computer and Systems Sciences.
Framework: If you are applying to DSV through;

  • Erasmus exchange agreement (Usually if your home university is inside the EU.)
  • Bilateral department agreement (Usually if your home university is in Africa and Asia/outside the EU.)
  • Linnaeus-Palme agreement (This option is seldom used.)

If you are not sure which category you belong to, please contact the exchange coordinator at your home university.

Level: Select the appropriate study level.
Start semester: Choose the semester you wish to start your exchange.
Duration in semester: Choose 1 (if you want to stay one semester) and 2 (if you want to stay two semesters).

Step 7. Fill out your Language Proficiency.

DSV´s English Requirements:

  • IELTS   Overall mark of 6,5 and no section below 5.5.
  • TOEFL  Paper-based - Score of 4.5 (scale 1-6) in written test, total score of 575.
    Internet-based - Score of 20 (scale 0-30) in written test, total score of 90.

Step 8. Further Information

  • If you have a disability, impairment or long-term medical condition which may affect your studies click “yes” and specify. Please note that Stockholm University must receive a confirmation that your home university will pay for the support (related to your disability) you can receive during the exchange. You also need to submit a medical certificate under “Relevant Documents to be Uploaded” – “Additional Documents”.
  • If not, select “no”.

Step 9. Uplad Relevant Documents

  • Upload your recent Transcript in English as a Pdf file. (max size 10 MB)
  • (Bachelor Diploma if you apply for MSc)
  • Certificate of registration of current courses
  • Upload your Proof of English Proficiency as a Pdf file. Student whose mother tongue is English or comes from a Nordic countries do not need to upload a test. (max size 10 MB)
  • Upload your Course Selection Form/Learning Agreement as a Pdf under “Additional Documents”.
  • If you have a medical certificate and confirmation from your home university regarding a disability please add these documents as well (making all into one (1) Pdf). (max size 10 MB)

Step 10. Declaration

Read the text and approve by ticking “yes”.

Step 11. Submit Application

  • Please make sure that you have completed all mandatory fields and uploaded all necessary documents. You can submit your application once all the sections in the menu are marked with green checkmarks. No more changes will be possible after submitting your application.
  • Click “Submit”.
  • Confirm that you wish to submit the application form.

If your application has been submitted successfully you will receive a confirming text and can download your application. Please note that we do not want to receive soft or hard copies of the application. All information will be stored in the database. You will receive an outcome of your application by the end of April/beginning of May if you are applying to a autumn semester and by the end of October/beginning of November if you are applying to a spring semester. You are not accepted until you receive an official acceptance letter from Stockholm University.
