”Information processing specialising in methods for administrative data processing” was established as a new academic discipline from July 1 1965 at KTH (The Royal Institute of Technology). The topic was to be taught also to students at Stockholm University. The Department was formed in 1966.
The topic was later renamed Computer and Systems Sciences and encompasses a large numbers of areas of technical, economical, organisational, social, legal or political nature.
