Exploring the possibilities for cooperation with NTUU KPI university
in Ukraine

Professor Oliver Popov visited Ukraine in September. As part of his visit he was invited to a meeting to discuss and explore the potential for future cooperation between DSV and the National Technical University of Ukraine (Kiev Polytechnic Institute, KPI). During the formal meeting he discussed future cooperation with Yuriy Yakimenko, First Vice Rector and Sergiy Sidorenko, Vice Rector, Executive Manager of International Relations Division, and Yevgeniya Sulema, the Vice-dean for research at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics

“The stay Ukraine was a great opportunity to put forward at KPI the idea of establishing the initial academic link since one of the visions of the head of DSV Love Ekenberg is to intensify the cooperation between DSV and the universities in Eastern and Central Europe and adjacent regions,” Oliver Popov explains. “I talked about Stockholm University in general and DSV specifically. And of course I talked about the Security group.”  Later during the seminar for the faculty and the students more details about the DSV research and educational activities and interests were discussed, as well as the modalities for collaboration.

NTUU KPI wants to work together in both  education and research endeavors such as, among others,   European projects and joint educational programs particularly on the graduate level including the exchange of scholars and students.

“As the first result of the meeting DSV has received a draft of an agreement for cooperation, which is accompanied by an extensive report on the results of the meeting and the seminar which is currently under the consideration by Professor Love Ekenberg for the next step to be taken.

National Technical University of Ukraine is one of the most prestigious universities in Ukraine, with a string of prominent and world famous alumnae.
