Department of Computer and Systems Sciences belongs to Stockholm University but have its premises in Kista. In our pleasant campus there are about 5,500 students. Here, people of many different nationalities, with contacts throughout the world, contribute to the creation of a highly international atmosphere.

The University is close to The Kista Mall (Kista galleria) with an access to student accommodations, restaurants, shopping, cinema and public transport. It takes only 15 minutes to get to downtown Stockholm and all its attractions, beautiful surroundings and historical environs.

Kista Science City – a world leading science city

As a student in Kista you become part of one of the world’s greatest IT-clusters and Sweden’s largest job market - Kista Science City. Here, approximately 8,900 established companies, 1,100 within ICT, develop and are stimulated to grow through an interaction with other players in their proximity: clients, suppliers, and competitors as well as research and educational institutions.

The number of employees in Kista 2010 is approximately 67,000, 23,800 within ICT. The closeness to the companies here provides us the unique opportunity to link our programs and courses to the reality and gives the students the opportunity to create connections to businesses during the time of their education.

We are also located close to many research institutes e.g. the Swedish Institute of Computer Sciences (SICS) and Swedish Defense Research Agency (FOI). It gives you the opportunity to be updated and take part of research, for example by writing thesis within various research projects.
