The Forum Building
DSV is located in the forum building and have modern premises with several laboratories and big lecture rooms that are continuously updated with the latest technology. As a student you also have access to small group rooms and several computer rooms where you can work with projects. DSV also have a wireless network covering the whole campus area and a big IT-library. In the links to the left there is more information about our laboratories, lecture rooms and the technology.
Lecture rooms and equipment
The teaching at DSV is conducted in several modern lecture halls and rooms. Since we are continuously updating the equipment in the halls they are always supplied with the latest technology. This allows us to vary the teaching and hold lectures in various ways.
Auditoriums
Big lectures are being held in our auditoriums, where there is room for 60 to 200 people.
Laboratory environment
For experimental operations within the education there are four different labs. Choice of lab is dependent on the nature of the course and students educational choices.
Group rooms
The students have access to a numerous of smaller group rooms, that can be used during smaller group assignments.
Computer labs
At the DSV the students have access to several computer labs. There is also a lab for laptop computers available to use for our students.
Interconnected auditoriums
Our auditoriums are interconnected, which means that our students can follow the same lecture in more than one lecture room.
Parallel HD-projectors
With the parallel HD projectors we are able to show three different presentations simultaneously in high resolution.
Smart boards
We use Smart boards that can be interconnected to all PC:s and projectors to create an interactive and practical teaching environment.
Video recorded lectures
Several lectures are being recorded on video and are later published on our website where the students are able to see lectures retrospectively, in case they missed out on any teaching sessions.
Virtual learning environment for distance education
DSV uses a virtual learning environment, where one platform enables us to offer distance learning.
Special techniques in the laboratory environment
Various educations require different special techniques. Our four various labs are therefore equipped with special technique, so that our students are able to use their whole competence and creative abilities to create, develop and find solutions.
Wireless Network
The whole campus area is covered by a wireless network supporting studies and group meetings to take place both within and outside the campus area, and of course you can also use it to stay in touch with family and friends.
IT support
The main part of the communication between teachers and students outside teaching hours is supported by an internal communication system (First Class) that also contains most of the course materials for all courses. For administrative issues tied to the courses we have developed our own course administration system Daisy. It shows your personal schedule for all your registered courses, contains scanned copies of your exams etc.
