Exchange students

Exchange studies at Stockholm University

To study one or two semesters abroad is a wonderful opportunity to experience a new academic environment and way of life as an integral part of your degree. Stockholm University has exchange agreements with around 400 universities throughout the world and we offer over 200 courses in English to exchange students.

Some agreements are university-wide and some are restricted to different departments or study areas. You will generally only be allowed to study in the area named in the agreement. To find out if your university has an agreement with us, please consult our exchange partner database or contact your home university.
You must be nominated by your home University before applying for exchange studies. If your university does not have an exchange agreement with Stockholm University, you can still study with us as a free mover/visiting student. (SeeApplications and admission and Courses and programmes for more information).

Exchange students do not receive an academic degree or diploma from Stockholm University. However, exchange students receive an official transcript indicating the courses taken and credits earned. These credits may be transferable to credits at students’ home university.

Student counsellors

The Student counsellors' reception is located in the library on the entrance floor in the Forum building in Kista. If you need help from the student counsellors please e-mail toexchange@dsv.su.se or visit during reception hours.

Course literature

The course books are sold at Kårbokhandeln in Forum. You can also buy the course books from Internet book stores.

Register for exams

You need a 'computer account' at DSV for your DSV studies. You need this account to be able to register for exams (the Daisy administration system) and access the course web, and other systems used at DSV, such as First Class and Daisy. You can also find the exam room through the Daisy system, and get to know your course result.

Identification card

All DSV students are to have/wear an identification / entrance card while visiting DSV after the course start. See the schedule for processing the cards on the door to the 'entrance card room' ('Passerkortsrummet'), elevator A, 6th floor (go to the left after getting out of the elevator).

About internship

Currently, we don´t have internships for exchange students at DSV as such. ('Exjobb' / Degree project is something to do at one's home university.) Get in touch with some suitable company for a project to be a part of and ask your home university if that's ok (if they are going to 'translate' your work at the project to academic credits for your degree).
