Volunteering

The Cognitive Science Symposium runs on volunteer energy. In that sense "student volunteers" are an integral part of the Cognitive Science Symposium support staff. In other words, they are an integral part of the success of the symposium.

Students from all disciplines and cultures are invited to be part of the most exciting event in Cognitive Science to be held in Stockholm June 16 and 17 this year! To be a student volunteer requires that you will help with the organization of the symposium, that is: helping participants to register, to find their way at the IT- Universitetet in Kista, handing information out, helping participants with posters and demonstrations, etc.

To be a student volunteer also means that you will have the possibility to interact with contributors, attendees, and committee members from the Rutgers Center for Cognitive Science - USA and other universities, research institutions in Sweden.

Benefits
In return for their help at the symposium, student volunteers will receive free conference registration, some meals, a Conference dinner and a student volunteer T-shirt. Student volunteers are responsible for their own housing, travel to and from Stockholm. Student volunteers will have access to the student volunteer email list, which helps to create a community before the conference.

Qualifications
Volunteers must be *students* -undergraduate, masters, Ph D candidates- during the 2003-2004 academic year. All students, regardless of discipline, are encouraged to apply. No experience is required. We are looking for enthusiastic, intelligent, reliable people.

Volunteers must commit to a total of 3 to 4 volunteer hours of work at the symposium during 16 and 17 June 2003.

A special 5 hours training before the symposium is planned.
