Eduroam

Om man konfigurerar sin Mac-dator för eduroam så är datorn automatiskt anslutet till det trådlösa nätet i Forum. Dessutom kan man komma åt trådlösa nät på andra platser som har stöd för eduroam, t ex i SU/Frescati och på KTH Valhallavägen och andra universitet runt om i världen som är anslutna till eduroam. Nedan finns en instruktion på engelska för hur man konfigurerar sin Mac-dator för eduroam:

The following instructions apply to Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard.

1. Click on the wireless icon in the top right corner of the screen. Choose "Open Network Preferences..." in the menu. The Network window opens.
2. Select "AirPort" in the left pane.
3. Click the "Advanced" button. The Advanced dialog opens.
4. Switch to the "802.1X" tab.
5. Click the plus ("+") button to add a profile. Choose "Add User Profile".
6. Enter "eduroam" as the name of the profile.
7. Enter the settings as follows:
   • User Name: your username with domain, e.g. alan123/PPP@SU.SE
   • Password: the password you retreived from mitt.su.se (preferably, copy and paste it from the web page)
   • Wireless Network: choose "eduroam"
   • Authentication: make sure that only the "PEAP" box is checked
8. Click OK. The dialog closes.
9. Click Apply.
10. Open the wireless menu again by clicking on the wireless icon in the top right corner of the screen.
11. Choose the "eduroam" network from the menu.
12. In the dialog that appears, choose "eduroam" in the 802.1X box. Click OK.
13. A "Verify Certificate" dialog appears.
    1. Click "Show Certificate".
    2. Choose "GTE CyberTrust Global Root" in the list.
    3. Click the arrow next to the "Trust" label to show the trust settings.
    4. Choose "Always Trust" in the "Extensible Authentication (EAP)" box.
    5. Click continue. Enter your local password when asked.
14. The eduroam network should now be fully configured, and automatically connected to when within range.
