ICT4D - for global development

Our society faces many challenges and ICT can play a central role in finding solutions. Many of the challenges are universal, such as lack of relevant and unbiased information, influence and insight into political processes, job opportunities, skills and education, inclusion and equality, health services etc. There are also problems where there is too much of some things, such as corruption, pollution, irrelevant and biased information. The seminar is open to all, welcome!

The Department of Computer and Systems Sciences (DSV) and Spider (The Swedish Program for ICT in developing regions) carry out research and development projects related to these challenges in more than 30 developing countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Focus is mainly on countries selected by Sida (The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency).
