DSV works actively to reduce our impact on the environment. Our business has a direct negative environmental impact through our use of office equipment and materials. Important aspects include energy use, waste management, as well as travel and transportation. We are able to influence our environmental impact through our major activities: research, education and collaboration with the surrounding community.

Waste management in the Nod Building

University of Stockholm University is environmentally certified and Nod is BREEAM certified. This places special demands on our waste management which we took into consideration when designing our waste containers.
The materials we handle are listed below.

The placements of vessels on the education floor 2

  • Recycled paper - Bottle bin in the service room (where the printer is located)
  • Flammable, Envelope, Post-it, Paper Bugs, Chewing gum, nuts etc. - In the kitchenette, at 6 places in the corridors and in the service room
  • Packaging, cardboard corrugated board - In the kitchenette and in the service room
  • Food waste, plants, sticky napkins, banana peel and waste to be composted - kitchenette
  • Plastic, hard and soft - In kitchenette and at 6 places in the corridors
  • Glassware (porcelain) - In the kitchenette
  • Pant cans / bottles - In kitchenette and at 6 places in the corridors

This means that each person is responsible for their personal waste and to put it in the right waste containers.
